CoreSportgib 4th February 2016 The street soccer phenomenon has attracted some interest among those who wish to play but cannot register their interest as they just want to be involved, not committed to the training and other commitments teams under the GFA now experience. As the first Street Soccer League tournament took place at the Bayside Sports complex, just across the yard, in the old Victoria Stadium sports hall teams battled it out in the third and fourth division of the futsal league, many of the players home grown, young and old, and all playing in their spare time. Just next door the first division of the futsal league also took place. Seeing all three together Street Soccer resembled the poor man's equivalent, and not necessarily having the effect which people had envisioned from the marketed product, but very much providing an opportunity to players from all levels, and skills who miss out on the regulation registration of the organised GFA seasons.
