  coated UNIVERSITY  OF  WASHINGTON  ART  DEPARTMENT     The   Art Building is   JANUARY  31,2014   with  Candy   By  Susan  Yim          More  than  40  butterflies  and  flies  on   the  wall,  colorful  unicorns   climbing  on   the   artworks,   and   plants   flowing   across   wall   to   wall   from   the   art   building   entrance  to  the  walls   near  the   art  library.      An   artist   named   Candy   Coated   has   flew   over   2,000   miles   to   create   an   installation   at   the   University   of   Washington.   The   art   students   were   excited   to   accompany   Candy   in   creating   the   installation.   Screen-­‐ printing,   paper   cutouts,   and   laser   cut   decals   were   placed   intricately   to   create   this   installation.   The   installation   is   called   “The   Fantasy   of   Imagination”.        Candy   Depew   (nicknamed   Candy   Coated)   is   an   artist   from   Philadelphia   who  teaches   people   how  to   silk   screen   as  well  as  create  their  own,  affordable   studio.   She   also   sells   some   of   her   products   on   Etsy   and   has   created   many   installations   projects   in   and   outside  of  buildings.  Oh,  and  she  loves   cats.        The   artwork   was   created   by   art   students   screen-­‐printing   Candy’s   designs   onto   cloth,   cutting   small   shapes   with   paper   then   posting   them   on   the   wall,   as   well   as   peeling   cute   little   laser   cutout   decals   and   sticking   those   to   the   wall.   The   artwork   was   made   to   flow   and   sp
