Through Roots Reggae music we feel the rhythms that were brought forth by people crying out. Crying for their homeland. Crying for their freedom. With the influence of Rastafai we hear the sounds of love, forgiveness, and a call for equality. We are reminded of the past, but we are told of an awesome future, a future where all are one. One love, one heart, one human family. That is the gift of Roots Reggae music and that is the reason it’s popularity persists. It is the sorrow of a captive people transformed into hope for all humanity. It is the knowledge of the past, employed to deliver a brighter future..
