Fresh Like Us, hosted by King Sharif of A Kool Story & Sigourney Salley, celebrity stylist for VH1's Black Ink Crew, was an epic event. Urban professionals in the creative industries gathered at HarlemGarage for this rare networking opportunity focused on fashion. Guests included Black Ink's Sassy, Puma, and Walter; Industry Songwriter Cardan, Urban Ink Magazine,
Heed Magazine, PR Expert - Gina Torres and representatives from Rocawear, Tommy Hilfiger & Louis Vuitton.
Others like Naomi White of White Inc Communications, Wonder Lee, Unorthodox Clothing, and Jamila Washington of Buddha’s Baked Goods were in attendance. DJ Lobotomy Copter was present with performances made by Eliza B., Lafayette Stokely, and Euro League – all independent artists.
It was cool seeing Genie of All Things Fly NY and meeting The Notorious K.I.A. in the flesh - fashion enthusiast and former contributor to an ezine I had. Supporters and sponsors included MetroPCS, X96.3fm, Strictly #1 Entertainment, Necie Treats, and Bleu Magazine.

online radio personality & singer; an
experienced contract lawyer; an
international author & brand strategist; a
rapper featured in online & national print magazines; a multimedia & film crew; a career consultant; a cpa; and a brand manager. An amazing fact about each of these members is that they are under the age of 35 and are from places like Harlem, Brooklyn, and The Bronx.
I often liken Connects to a co-ed fraternity without the hazing and pledging process; grinding to obtain your dreams is enough!
