SCHOOL TRANSITIONS
Continued from page 13
So , in this next phase of my life I am giving myself a year , maybe two , to sort out the next chapter and what I might do , and like with earlier transitions , I am a combination of excited and worried and have alternating periods of near ecstasy at my new-found freedom , followed by concerns about lack of meaning and too much free time . But , having experienced several transitions now , I am somewhat confident this stage , too , will work out for the good , and also fearful that maybe it won ’ t — which bodes well for me ! •

A Relational Approach to Engaging Boys in Learning November 1 , 2022 • 10:00am-4pm Eastern • Bethesda , MD or attend online
Getting the best from boys in school has been historically challenging . In this workshop , Dr . Michael Reichert offers a framework for engaging boys in learning that has been validated through studies with over 2,500 adolescent boys in over 50 schools .
This workshop will be comprised of three modules , each covering a topic derived from this research : an overall summary of effective teaching practices with boys , a more focused summary of effective and ineffective relational strategies , and an introduction to a collaborative exercise to help teachers / coaches “ reset ” when they are unable to repair a relational breakdown with a student .
