Connecting Through Technology
Historically , we ’ ve made an effort to use technology to reinforce existing connections , which we knew would become critical to the future success and security of our firm . For example , we invested in Zoom technology a couple years ago and upgraded our Skype software long before we were all sent home in March . Having these solutions in our toolkit prior to the pandemic made all the difference in allowing us to successfully work and collaborate remotely with our clients and team members . But we fully understand that we must continue to be forward-thinking to remain on the cutting edge of industry changes .
This year , we hired our first-ever Chief Information Officer , Darrell Williams . Darrell ’ s role is both visionary and strategic , and is critical in helping us leverage technology to execute our strategic plan and improve our security and infrastructure .
As CIO , Darrell is responsible for tying technology to our IT strategy , and tying our IT strategy to the firm strategy . In a field that ’ s constantly evolving , Darrell is constantly looking two to three years ahead to predict where we need to be from a technology standpoint . We ’ re thrilled
RPAs or BOTS
“ robotic process automation ”
to have him on board , and look forward to introducing him to some of you to discuss your own IT and infrastructure strategies .
In 2020 , we also rolled out robotic process automation ( RPA ), casually known as bots , to reduce those tedious , manual tasks that take a long time for our people . Bots free up our staff to work on more value-added types of service .
A handful of bots have already been deployed at Rea to support our client advisory services , IT , government , and Rea Corporate Partners teams . These bots have saved our people countless hours that would have normally been spent performing manual and repetitive tasks .
We ’ ve proven that RPA works for Rea , and that it has enhanced our client experience , and we ’ re excited to deploy the additional bots that are currently in development . continued >
