For those of us who live in the northeast, and specifically Maine, I suspect you are a lot like I am in
that you’re ready for spring! Now that we are feeling like spring is right around the corner, many of us
will be taking on springtime projects which are common to all of us and include home improvements,
buying a new home or purchasing an automobile. Convenience is something that we focus on a lot
at UCU – it is one of the core components to all of the decisions that we make about products and
services. While we spend a great deal of time talking about the features and benefits of managing your
accounts and deposits at UCU, we don’t spend nearly as much time talking about the convenience
features built into our loan programs.
Springtime is a common time for vehicle purchases, and one of our most convenient lending programs
at UCU is called indirect lending. We have a strong partnership with over 100 automobile dealers
throughout the state. This allows our members to finance their vehicle through UCU while at these
dealerships – thus allowing you the convenience of keeping your financing at UCU while making only
one stop at the dealership. The next time you are buying a vehicle at a dealership, ask to finance your
loan at UCU, and most likely you’ll be able to do all of your UCU paperwork right there. For a complete

vehicles in a private sale or sometimes want to borrow money for an automobile without financing at
the dealership – both of these loans can also be obtained with a quick phone call, online application
or by visiting one of our branches to speak to a financial service representative. One last comment on
this topic... many of our members live outside of Maine (We actually have members in all fifty states!),
and we can help them with their automobile lending as well. The process is very straightforward. No
matter how you apply, the automobile lending process couldn’t be any easier than it is at UCU!
For homeowners considering spring or summertime renovations
to their homes, UCU’s home equity lending program is a popular
solution for funding your projects. Many members also use home
equity loans for their automobile purchases as well. For those
of you who are considering purchasing a home, rest assured
