07 / 08 / 17 San Antonio, TX 5900Ekhert Rd. apartment fire— crews of the 4th Battalion were dispatched to the 5900blk of Eckhert Rd for a reported apartment fire. Engine 32 and Platform-Ladder 32 arrived to find a 3 story, 16 unit apartment complex with smoke coming from the eaves. Crews found fire in the walls between the 1st and 2nd floors of 4 units. Crews worked hard and diligently to keep the fire in check and were on scene for well over an hour and a half checking for extension. Companies on the ticket were EN32, EN42, EN37, EN49, PL32, PL51, TK37, BC04 and the Fire Shift Commander.

07 / 08 / 17 San Antonio, TX 200 blk of Dwyer— downtown companies were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 224 Dwyer St. As units were checking in route, Central Fire Alarm advised that they were getting numerous calls of heavy smoke on the 3rd floor, and that the corrected address would be 214 Dwyer St. The fire was upgraded to a working fire. Engine Co. 11 and Tower Ladder 11 arrived to find a 3 story office building with heavy smoke on the 3rd floor, and advised that they would be making entry to the“ fire” floor. A window was busted out as there was no standpipe in the stairwell and a high-rise pack off 11’ s motor was pulled and put to work on the source of the smoke, which turned out to be a trashcan on fire. Crews were faced with a very challenging layout within the building which made ventilating the smoke extremely difficult. Multiple PPV fans were placed in the stairwells and an exhaust port on the roof was opened. Crews were on scene for well over 2 1 / 2 hours doing mop up and salvage operations for the other tenants of the office building. Companies on the ticket were EN11, EN04, EN03, EN07, EN01, EN05, PL11, PL01, TK06, HR11, M14, M07, MOF03, MOF04, ISO, MAC39, BC01, BC06 & the Fire Shift Commander.

07 / 08 / 17 San Antonio, TX 2018-2999 Escalon Ave Brush fire— south side companies were dispatched to the area between 2018-2999 Escalon Ave for a reported brush / grass fire. Engine 2 arrived to find a field on fire with moderate fuel and requested an additional engine and a brush truck. Shortly after 22 ' s arrival, while working a flank on the fire, it jumped the creek bed and an additional 2 brush trucks were requested. Crews were able to keep the fire in check and no structures were damaged or threatened. Companies on the ticket were EN02, EN22, BT22, BT36, BT50 and BC02
