Connected What does the Sourcing team do ?
Thierry
We look for the best products – Electronics , Domestic Appliances and Accessories – across the globe , including at trade shows and tech fairs , before negotiating the best possible price for the desired quality grade . And then we take care of everything from merchandising , quality assurance , supply chain management , and central support , all the way through to product launch .

We ’ ve got a huge range of accessories , and they ’ re all exclusive , so our customers have the best value and choice on the market .

What quirky products have you come across lately ?

At the Hong Kong trade show in April , we saw a ‘ smart umbrella ’ that connects to weather apps and lights up to tell you whether you should take it with you that day . It also had a ‘ find your phone ’ feature and call / message notifications . We even saw a walking stick with GPS functionality !
Connected Where does the team work ? Thierry
We have 75 colleagues based in Hong Kong , 17 in Shenzhen , China , and four others at our Acton Support Centre . While we ’ re spread out across our world , we put our customers first , work together , act bravely , and know that we can achieve anything – like the rest of Dixons Carphone .
