Connected What does the Sourcing team do?
Thierry
We look for the best products – Electronics, Domestic Appliances and Accessories – across the globe, including at trade shows and tech fairs, before negotiating the best possible price for the desired quality grade. And then we take care of everything from merchandising, quality assurance, supply chain management, and central support, all the way through to product launch.

We’ ve got a huge range of accessories, and they’ re all exclusive, so our customers have the best value and choice on the market.

What quirky products have you come across lately?

At the Hong Kong trade show in April, we saw a‘ smart umbrella’ that connects to weather apps and lights up to tell you whether you should take it with you that day. It also had a‘ find your phone’ feature and call / message notifications. We even saw a walking stick with GPS functionality!
Connected Where does the team work? Thierry
We have 75 colleagues based in Hong Kong, 17 in Shenzhen, China, and four others at our Acton Support Centre. While we’ re spread out across our world, we put our customers first, work together, act bravely, and know that we can achieve anything – like the rest of Dixons Carphone.
