HELD ON A GLORIOUSLY SUNNY WINTER’S WEEKEND AT THE LUXURIOUS FOUR POINTS BY SHERATON IN DARLING HARBOUR, SYDNEY, PACK & SEND’S 2012 ANNUAL CONFERENCE DREW TOGETHER FRANCHISEES FROM AS FAR AS BUNBURY, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, RIGHT ACROSS THE TASMAN TO RICCARTON, NEW ZEALAND. T he conference weekend offered franchisees the opportunity to connect with colleagues and share in a wealth of knowledge from both peers and inspiring motivational speakers, along with a smorgasbord of information on the latest developments in technology. Tips on how to increase sales were there for the taking and, of course, a flurry of prizes along with a whole lot of fun and games. Friday night’s networking marked the start of the event, where new faces, hand shaking, a constant stream of hors d’oeuvres, along with the odd drink or two, turned strangers into friends, setting up an atmosphere that was to continue throughout the weekend. After visiting major suppliers’ exhibition booths for up to the minute updates on the latest offerings, Saturday morning brought franchisees a line up of presentations that both educated and entertained. Jason Travis from Franchise Relationships Institute covered a theme of ‘Green and Growing’ sharing what it takes to stay fresh and remain ‘Leader of the Pack’. Travis said that all good businesses can lose their edge by becoming tired and complacent. Pointing out that it is part of the natural process of things to grow and then decay, Travis said the secret of business success is to bring in new business initiatives before the old ones lose momentum – that is, bringing in a new dynamic while business is still going well and the energetic motivation is still there. Next on the day’s itinerary was speed dating – PACK & SEND style – which, for those who hadn’t already had a chance to meet eve
