Afterschool Programs at Centennial Middle School
From late January to mid-February, our CI
worked with Centennial Middle School to hold a
three-session afterschool program to promote
Chinese culture to American middle-school girls. The
first session covered Chinese New Year, calligraphy
and paper-cutting. CI teachers demonstrated
the origin and features of Chinese New Year with
presentations and hands-on activities. Students
were fascinated with the calligraphy and papercutting of the Chinese character “春(Spring)”. The
