Employee Appreciation Day at Women’s Basketball
The Confucius Institute partnered with NC State’s Staff
Senate to host a university wide employee appreciation day.
This year’s employee appreciation was the 2nd annual event
with over 2,000 attendants. Since this event was close to the
Chinese New Year, our CI had a calligraphy table where people
were able to write Chinese New Year greetings and “加油” (Go
Team) to cheer on the NC State Women’s Basketball Team. Our
Chinese mascot Panda “Bao-Bao” also had his debut as this
was his first appearance. Many people enjoyed taking pictures
with Bao-Bao and showcasing the Chinese calligraphy they
learned. This was a great event that combined NC State
and Chinese culture to bring more global awareness to the
community.

SENATE?
The NC State Staff Senate is an advisory board to the Chancellor to
help review and advise on policies that affect staff. The Senate also
offers programs on campus. Anna Lamm, Director of CI, is a member
of the Senate and has helped to offer more international programs
for staff.
