Nanjing Normal University Delegation Visit 南京师范大学代表团访问
During November 16-19, a sixperson delegation group from Nanjing Normal University visited North Carolina. Following the Xiamen Performance Group, the NNU Delegation is the second group visiting the Confucius Institute under Hanban’ s ― 3 Tours ‖ project. Six professors from the fields of Chinese art, literature, archeology, sociology, communications, and foreign affairs, gave a series of lectures at both NC State and St. Augustine’ s College. The CI also organized an academic lunch-on discussion and invited various faculties of the university to join.
In collaboration with First Year College and the University Honor’ s System, CI also hosted the ― Chinese Culture Soiree ‖ where the visiting delegation discussed four different topics.
Before departing NC, a visit to the Confucius Classroom at St. Augustine ' s College was also arranged where the NNU Delegation members also gave lectures on various fields of studies.
11 月 16 日至 19 日, 南京师范大学 6 人 代 表 团 访 问 了 北 卡 罗 来 纳 州 。 这次巡讲是汉办“ 三巡” 项 目中的第二项 。 南师大 6 名教授 分别来自中国艺术 、 文学 、 考古 学 、 社会学 、 通信和外交等领 域, 他们此行在北卡州大和圣奥 古斯汀等学校做了一系列的巡 讲, 还参观了圣奥古斯汀孔子课 堂, 向学生们介绍了明清时代的 报纸和杂志, 东西方文化差异 等 。 这次我们一共组织了 10 项活 动吸引了 500 多人参加 。
Chinese Food Class 中国美食与文化
Chinese Food course continues to be a very popular culture
course here at CI. This year, our CI staff introduced Chinese food and dining as it related to culture, tradition, environment, health and history. Students were also given a tour of a local Chinese supermarket as they learned different types of Chinese fruit, vegetables, and meats. CI arranged students to sample
Chinese hot tea, Chinese hotpot, Chinese street foods such as kabobs, and various delicious Chinese appetizers. Students also got to watch a Chinese chef while trying to make their own
dumplings.
今年的中国美食与文化课仍然是 一个非常受欢迎的文化课程 。 学 生们来到当地的中国超市了解中 国的水果, 蔬菜和不同类型的肉
类 。 孔院的工作人员介绍了中国 食品和餐饮服务与文化, 传统, 环境, 卫生, 和历史的关联 。 孔 院安排学生品尝不同的中国茶, 火 锅, 街 头 食 物( 例 如 串 串 烧), 和各种美味的开胃菜 。 在学生们观看中国厨师的同时, 也亲自尝试了包饺子并体会到了 其中的乐趣 。

Dr. Wang Xiaoying was the Chinese Director at NC State from 2009 – 2011. During her time at NC State she helped increase the Chinese language and culture programs, the Summer Abroad Program and increased partnership between NC State and Nanjing Normal. Her leadership and experience was a valuable assest to NC State and she will be
missed.

Dai Guanglin was a graduate of Communications from NC State and was the Program Manager of the Confucius Institute for over 5 years. She was apart of the beginning of the CI and was a major contributor to its growth and success. Her passion and dedication was seen in her work

and she helped increase the Chinese Teacher Training Programs and Confucius Classrooms. We wish both these ladies much success in their future.
