The AATE leadership has been using the term " A budget is a moral document " for years now , but what does that actually mean ? This panel of budget-makers and teaching artists will decode key elements of how money and other resources are allocated in the theatre-making process . This will demystify the process , equipping teaching artists to hold budget-makers accountable to how money gets spent and how to make the case for a just and equitable budget-making process . For those who are new to budget-making , this will set a foundation for thoughtful and responsible choices .

Teaching artists and ACT staff worked on approaches to authentically engage and amplify student voice , and help them understand the connections between the process of visual art creation and new script development . Students worked with Arts Corps teaching artists exploring themes of Black erasure and historical legacy . They brainstormed pitches , submitting proposals and undergoing iterations and drafts of review from their teaching artist . Pieces were professionally framed and displayed in the ACT Lobby for the entire run of the production , along with artist statements .
