8 Academic Venues Meet the atty Grant, marketing and events officer, British Society of Echocardiography tacy Thompson, head of events, Knowledge Transfer Network (Innovate UK) Stacy Thompson is the head of events managing the KTN events team which deliver events across all sectors of the business. She has responsibility for setting the events strategy and enhancing the team’s capability and function. The team delivers over 400 events a year. Prior to joining KTN in 2016, she held senior events and marketing roles within the financial services sector, managing high performing teams and client events. She studied European Policy and Languages at the University of Kent and spent a period of time working in Brussels monitoring and reporting on European policy development. Hatty Grant is the marketing and events officer for the British Society of Echocardiography, a small association with just five members of staff. In a team of one for events, marketing and IT, she enjoys a busy role and has spent 2019 planning the launch of a new website and the annual conference for 1,000 among other things. Grant studied International Events Management at Brighton before joining the Royal Society of Medicine in 2015. After progressing to assistant events team manager, she moved to the BSE in 2018. Grant was one of the Conference News’ CN30 under Thirty in 2017. www.conference-news.co.uk ntonia Mitsis, senior events manager, Bray Leino Events Antonia Mitsis is a senior event manager at Bray Leino Events, an award-winning creative agency with two distinct areas of expertise, Live Events and Exhibitions. Mitsis has worked across a wide range of live event projects around the globe and her clients include, the Department for International Trade, National Cyber Security Centre, UK Space Agency, HS2 and Academy Ambassadors. Working with these clients, she has delivered a range of events including pavilions, exhibition stands, conferences, networking events and receptions. In 2018, Mitsis won the EN30 under Thirty award, an award which recognises young and talented individuals within the events industry.
