AGENTS FOR CHANGE

ith the spring conferencing season in full swing and agencies , destinations and venues generally reporting good business , we devote the core of this issue to finding out what are the key challenges for our booking agencies in this changed universe for business events .
We start with some background features on how the political canvas seems set to change in a big election year and the importance of ensuring our new political leaders are fully briefed on the benefits our industry can bring the economy and on the need to include it in their strategic plans . Our good friend and contributor , on pages 8-11 , Martin Fullard , who has done more than most to raise the voice of the meetings industry at government level , examines this issue in some detail and offers some food for thought .
We also hear from veteran agency chief , Jacqui Kavanagh of EDGE Venues , and from Hayley Nicholson , owner of Nuff Said agency , who urges a bigger investment in our speakers . Another of our 30Under30 contributors , Gabby Austen Browne , founder of Diversity Alliance , weighs in with some thoughts on how companies in the sector can take better care of their ‘ caregivers ’.
We also present case studies from the Novotel London West and from Dexory ’ s event at MK-7 , while Paul Cook offers some pointers when looking to insure event risk due to climate change and AI . CN
