Production, not just floorspace The pattern is deliberate. Simonetti says catering alone turns over nine figures a year, with AV production not far behind – figures that reframe what CHG is really selling. Book one of these venues and the CHG Event Production Studio, and the on-site team come with it, rather than arriving later via a preferred supplier list. |

C onvene Hospitality Group( CHG) president & CEO, Ryan Simonetti has money to spend and a list of cities in mind. In March, the company secured $ 230m in growth capital, led by TPG with additional equity from funds managed by Ares. CHG is now the parent company of Convene, etc. venues, NeueHouse and two independent special event brands – around 40 venues across nine cities, making it, by its own reckoning, the largest single provider of dedicated meeting and event space in the US and UK. The capital is earmarked for development, production technology and acquisitions. Simonetti says the balance sheet is clean and CHG is ready to play offence. He has wasted little time proving it.

New York does the heavy lifting The clearest evidence is on its home turf. Convene 555 Broadway opened on 22 April 2026 in SoHo’ s Scholastic Building: 32,000sq. ft, seven spaces, a 252-seat main hall and room for 450 guests. It is the group’ s 16th New York venue, arriving seven months after Convene 30 Hudson Yards, still the brand’ s largest in the city.
What comes next is more interesting, because it is not Convene at all. The Mallory, opening this autumn inside the redeveloped Terminal Warehouse in West Chelsea, spans 50,000sq. ft across three floors and holds up to 550. It has 19ft ceilings, VIP green rooms and movable gallery walls, plus a motorised truss rigged for almost 360-degree aerial work. Driving it is CHG Event Production Studio, an in-house team of designers and technologists able to work

Where the next venues land That model is about to travel. CHG is weighing West Coast expansion, with further additions planned in Chicago, Boston and Washington DC. Over the next three to five years Simonetti has named Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, Los Angeles and San Diego – destination markets where clients already take their most important gatherings. Three venues open within 12 to 15 months.
London remains the second pillar. Convene Rathbone, 5,000sqm at Frank Gehry-designed One Rathbone Square, arrives in spring 2027 with 180-degree projection mapping, street-facing LED walls and a main hall for 800-plus guests, a minute from Tottenham Court Road on the Elizabeth line.
A single platform for every brief For agencies and corporate planners, the value in all this is range. One partner now covers a 20-person training day at etc. venues, a 450-guest conference at 555 Broadway, a projection-mapped product launch at The Aperture and an awards dinner at The Mallory, with the same standard of catering, AV and service each time. n
