MEETINGS 2023 wraps up in New Zealand Business Events Industry Aotearoa ( BEIA )’ s MEETINGS 2023 in Wellington finished on 22 June – after two days featuring over 6,000 meetings , networking functions , and knowledge sessions .
According to BEIA , MEETINGS 2023 connected 224 exhibitors from 19 regions with over 400 international buyers . Growth and collaboration were the themes emerging at the event , with Tourism New Zealand aiming to bid for 90 international conferences in FY24 .

UKinbound welcomes back Chinese visitors through new workshops
UK-focused travel trade association UKinbound has launched a new series of workshops with specialist Chinese tourism consultancy , Guanxi , to ensure that tourism businesses throughout the UK are ready to receive visitors from China who have not been able to travel for over three years .
Helena Beard , managing director of Guanxi , commented : “ Our interactive workshops will help tourism and hospitality businesses understand the travel motivations , cultural differences and post-pandemic travel trends of Chinese tourists .”
MIDDLE EAST ADCEB partners with UNICEO Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau ( ADCEB ), part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi ( DCT Abu Dhabi ), has announced a strategic partnership with the non-profit association United Networks of International Corporate Event Organisers ( UNICEO ).
The partnership aims to further build awareness of Abu Dhabi as a MICE destination through networking opportunities , business support , and building brand awareness with UNICEO ’ s international decision-makers .

US legislators hear from the frontline of the travel industry
Under the banner of the American Society of Travel Advisors ( ASTA ), travel agency executives and industry advocates came together in Washington , DC for ASTA Legislative Day 2023 , 20 June .
Over 225 travel advisors plus supplier partners registrants from all 50 states took their message to Capitol Hill , sharing ASTA ’ s stance on critical issues facing the corporate and leisure travel economy . The event featured over 200 meetings with members of Congress and staff .
