Paris Air Show grounded for 2021
Organisers of the Paris Air Show have cancelled the event for 2021 because of uncertainty caused by Covid-19 .
The show , which is held on alternate years with the UK ’ s Farnborough International Airshow ( cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic ) was to have taken place 21-27 June 2021 . A new date will likely be in June 2023 .
It is the first time since the Second World War that the Paris Air Show has been cancelled . It normally attracts 300,000 attendees .

HK commits to more event space
The Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association has welcomed the Hong Kong government ’ s latest policy address , recognising the importance of the exhibition industry .
The government has committed to expanding event space in the city . There is a plan to redevelop the sites of the three government towers in Wan Chai North and the Kong Wan Fire Station ( opposite to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre ) into convention and exhibition facilities , hotel and Grade A offices .

A new type of event to boost the meetings and exhibition industry will take place at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel , Mash Media has announced .
The event , called A-Livex , will run over a single day on 26 January 2021 with limited capacity in a Covid-secure environment . Rather than make use of a large event space , the exhibition will see hotel bedrooms used as stands / meeting rooms .
Fifty hotel rooms across three floors of the hotel will operate as an exhibition booth or meeting room .

Event designers turn their hands to setting up vaccination centres
Belgium-based stand designer beMatrix has been helping to build sustainable and safe vaccination centres for Covid-19 . The company ’ s modular units can turn event spaces into vaccination centres and have separate areas for registration , vaccination and discharge . The solution , means governments can turn any sports arena or event space into a safe vaccination centre .
And Production Resources Group has been lending its expertise to setting up of a Covid-19 treatment centre in two halls on the Berlin exhibition grounds .
