The bureau reports a number of the won business events are aligned to South Australia ’ s key economic sectors , in particular Defence , Space , Health Sciences , Agtech , AI and all areas of advanced manufacturing .
Innovation precincts Adelaide ’ s technology and innovation precincts ( none more than 20 minutes from the city centre ) are well-regarded with event organisers .
The newest is Lot 14 , home to the Australian Space Agency , the Australian Institute for Machine Learning and global titans of industry , such as AWS , Google , Accenture and many more .
Adelaide is also home to the wellestablished BioMed City , the largest cluster of biomedical and life science buildings in the southern hemisphere . It is across the road from Adelaide ’ s Convention Centre .
The Tonsley innovation precinct is a 61-hectare site located 10km from the city centre . It is home to leadingedge research and education institutions , start-ups , business incubators and accelerators .
Also10km from Adelaide ( to the south ) is one of the oldest innovation precincts , Waite . The University of Adelaide ’ s Waite campus is home to the largest concentration of agriculture and wine research and teaching expertise in the southern hemisphere .
These precincts are the pillars that support Adelaide ’ s industries and are examples of how the city ’ s industry strengths can lead Business Events Adelaide ( when possible ) to target the State ’ s economic emphasis for its business events .
The South Australia government also continues to provide investment in the sector .
Just a year ago there were only a few small local business events taking place , but today Adelaide ’ s business events are back , and more strongly and more quickly than had been considered possible . The CVB reports big pent-up demand for face-to-face meetings that deliver knowledge transfer and business and research partnerships .
The second half of the 2022 calendar year for Adelaide was busy . The bureau says the average delegate spend has been AUD $ 632 per day and that has driven up average rates across the city ’ s hotels . That is all before the 40:1 return on investment
