Combined Honours
Computer Science
UCAS Code: Various (see University prospectus)
Duration: 3 Years
Degree awarded: BSc Computer Science
and (other subject)
Combined Honours degrees are degrees that are taken
in two different subjects, resulting in an X and Y degree
title, for example Computer Science and Mathematics.
The Combined Honours Computer Science course is suited
to those who would like to study Computer Science with
a second subject (see the list below) in equal weight for three
years and so gain a deep understanding of a domain that either
complements the discipline or to which they can then apply their
computing knowledge, for example in their final-year project or
subsequent career.
On successful completion of the degree, having studied two
areas extensively, the graduate has particular flexibility with
regard to career choice and employability.
In terms of content, Combined Honours students study a
sub-set of the Computer Science modules that are available on
the Single Honours course throughout the three years of study.
Combined Honours Computer Science students who have
demonstrated a particular aptitude for the subject may be
allowed to transfer to Single Honours Computer Science
at the end of the first or second semester of their first year.
List of combinations
Students who choose to study a Combined Honours Computer
Science course have the option to combine Computer Science
