Dear Partners and Fans ,
At the conclusion of every season , our Jaguars Foundation prepares a traditional report to the community . This year , it ’ s impossible to reflect on the 2019 season without contemplating the new challenges COVID-19 has brought to the First Coast and our world . My family and I have been inspired by the stories of local heroism and philanthropy and are incredibly grateful to our front line workers and medical personnel who have emerged as the true heroes of this crisis . It ’ s our privilege to join our neighbors in the collective effort to restore our community ’ s health and prosperity , through our financial support of $ 1 million dollars for area nonprofits , gifts cards for local health care workers and the distribution of 55,000 masks across Jacksonville .

For 25 seasons , the Jaguars Foundation has been committed to helping individuals achieve goals of all types - becoming a U . S . citizen , graduating from college , owning a home , beating a cancer diagnosis or even scoring a touchdown . As part of our $ 1.5 million investment in the community In 2019 , we helped put full-time athletic trainers in all Duval County high schools , renovated a local high school locker room , partnered to build homes for 34 local families and shipped 1,000 care packages to deployed service members .
I also want to acknowledge our players and coaches for the contribution of their time , talent and funding of nearly $ 600,000 to a variety of causes special to them . In particular , I salute former Jaguars defensive lineman Calais Campbell , who became the first player in franchise history to be honored as the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year . This prestigious honor is well-deserved as Calais has gone above and beyond to make an impact on and off the field during this time in Jacksonville . Our team and community are better because of his commitment to service .
As we turn our attention to 2020 and address the uncertainties of COVID-19 , we do so with a renewed spirit of community and a drive to build upon the past 25 years of service . On behalf of my wife , Ann , and our family , thank you to every group or individual who is personally stepping up for the people of Jacksonville during these uncertain times . The Jaguars Foundation looks forward to the next 25 years of working together to better our community .
