Happy Spring to you all. It is that time of the year when the grass is green, a nice cool breeze is blowing before the heatwave from youknow-where fries everything. The birds are singing, bees are humming, everything is happy and in love. Well, in our world, we are planning our strategy to start invading your homes, gardens, attics and start eating at your house, plants … Wow! We have such a fun existence! ok, let’ s back up. To the unsuspecting, we, us termites, live inside your wood and have been there for a while. After four to six years, we need to emerge and find a new mate, but we only have a short time, so there are, like, hundreds of us. We come out of the wood, and it is a big party! We go to the windows or sliders, leave our wings, you panic and call pest control. Then we get killed – dang it!
Next is us honeybees, just wanting to pollinate the pretty flowers to make honey for you to keep you healthy. So please don’ t kill us! Call a beekeeper and they will move us to a safe farm. And if you ask, they might even share some honey when it’ s ready. Please remember this, all insects, including mosquitoes, are pollinators. Try not to kill everything just because it is tempting.
