during Cleburne Public Library’ s Summer Reading Program

STORY BY Monica Faram

As summer settles in, the Cleburne Public Library is once again opening its doors to one of the community’ s most anticipated traditions— the Summer Reading Program.

This year’ s theme,“ Unearth a Story,” invites readers of all ages to dig into books and discovery, with a dinosaur- and fossil-inspired lineup designed to spark imagination and keep young minds engaged throughout the summer months.
The program officially kicked off May 29 with a colorful tie-dye kickoff event, launching a season packed with hands-on activities, live performances, crafts, movies and educational experiences. The Summer Reading Challenge runs June 1 through July 24, encouraging participants to track their reading and earn prizes along the way.
Participants of all ages can pick up a reading log at the library or track their progress online through Beanstack, available on the library’ s website— cleburne. net / 1504 / Library— or by scanning the QR code provided in program materials. Readers can earn prizes based on the number of days they read throughout the summer.
Library staff say the goal is simple: make reading fun while helping students maintain literacy skills during the school break.
Throughout June and July, the library’ s calendar is filled with events for every age group. Younger children can enjoy interactive programs like Wildtimes Zoofari, Paleo Maggie Storytime and Dino Egg
