The first Hobson City Youth Community Garden was planted on May 28, 2011.

2011 COMMUNITY VEGETABLE GARDEN A HUGE SUCCESS
PHASE ONE IS COMPLETED
The first year of the garden was a huge success to say the least. More than 15 youth and 12 adults participated
in the garden. Eddie May and Elijah Moore provided local coordination along with assistance
The amount of produce from the garden the first year was phenomenal. The chart below shows the production
totals from the garden for each crop that was grown. A fall garden of collards, kale and turnips was also planted.
More than 1500 pounds of produce was harvested from the fall crop.
