Early childhood screening
Screening is required for all children attending Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool .
Early Childhood Screening is a FREE check of a young child ’ s health and development and is conducted by qualified professionals . Screening helps identify specific needs a child may have including :
• Fine and gross motor skills .
• Speech and language development .
• Cognitive and social development .
• Vision and hearing .
• Height and weight .
• Immunizations .
Screening should be done soon after a child ’ s third birthday and is required by the state of Minnesota before kindergarten entry into a public school .
