Assessments
Throughout the school year , teachers will monitor children ’ s academic , social and physical progress with an assessment tool called Teaching Strategies Gold . Teachers use this data to plan lessons that promote growth in all areas of development and learning for each student . Your child ’ s individual data will be shared with you during Parent-Teacher Conferences .
Communications
Teachers will primarily use email to keep parents / caregivers informed and engaged with their child ’ s learning . Be sure to check it often for learning activities or important announcements .
Home Learning Activities
To reinforce and build on preschool skills , Home Learning Activities are offered in all classes . These are a fun and entertaining activity or a game . Parents / caregivers are encouraged to work together on the activity .
Early Childhood Family Education ( ECFE ):
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Conferences are held twice a year , in the fall and the spring . This is a time to talk with the teacher and plan learning goals for your child . You will also receive important information about their development and progress .
Parent Volunteers
Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool welcomes parents / guardians to be involved in the classroom activities . There are many ways to volunteer your time , please check with your child ’ s classroom teacher to discuss ways to be engaged .
The preschool program is funded by Minnesota state funding as well as participant paid tuition . The state funding requires parent / caregiver participation in preschool program activities .
Anoka-Hennepin Schools Early Childhood Family Education ( ECFE ) program offers opportunities for learning through play , socialization and support for families with children ages birth to grade 3 . ECFE works to support you as a parent / caregiver and to strengthen and empower families . The goal of ECFE is to enhance the ability of all parents and other family members to provide the best environments for their child ’ s learning and development .

The Home Visiting program offers information , ideas , and skills to support parents and caregivers of children ages birth to kindergarten . This service is offered at no cost through Anoka- Hennepin Schools Early Learning Programs . 763-506-1545

Parent / Caregiver Involvement
Parent Advisory Council
The ECFE / Preschool Parent Advisory Council ( PAC ) is a volunteer group of parents / caregivers who provide input and support to the Early Childhood Family Education ( ECFE ) and Preschool programs . PAC sponsors many events and helps provide mini-grants for Preschool classrooms .

Meetings are held the second Monday of each month during the school year from 6:30 to 8 p . m . Child care is provided for all in-person meetings . Please call 763-506-6171 to reserve a spot for your child .
