INCLUSION

Adventures Plus values children with special needs as an integral part of our diverse community. Adventures Plus encourages the enrollment of children with disabilities and strives to support their success in the program. Our goal is for all students to have independent, meaningful participation.
Adventures Plus will:
Encourage students to actively engage and particpate in age appropriate inclusive activities. Provide reasonable accommodations as needed to make physical and social inclusion successful.

PARENT / GUARDIAN ROLE

The role of the parent / guardian in Adventures Plus is vital. Parents / guardians are welcome to visit the site; their involvement will generate a unified, healthy experience for the child. Please contact your site coordinator with site-specific questions or concerns.

ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Adventures Plus Advisory Council consists of a group of program parents / guardians and staff who work together to provide high quality care for families with school-age children. Watch for council meeting minutes and information in your site newsletter. If you are interested in serving on the council, contact your site coordinator.

CONFERENCES

Conferences will be available with the Adventures Plus staff as requested by parent / guardian or as needed.

SIGNING IN AND OUT

Children must be escorted in and out of the child care site, and signed in and out by an authorized person 16 years of age or older. Children cannot be dropped off or picked up at the door.

AUTHORIZED PICK UP OF CHILDREN

Upon registration, parent / guardian will be asked to list the names of persons authorized to pick up their child. These persons must be 16 years of age or older. They will also be asked to show identification when signing out your child, and MUST be on the authorized pick up list for your child to be released to them. Please log into your child care account to manage your authorized pick up list.

BADGES

All Adventures Plus parents / guardians will use a personalized security badge to gain access to the school building during Adventures Plus program hours. During school hours, all families must enter through the school assigned door.( A + badges are not active during school hours.) Badges are kept for the duration of years the child is enrolled. Badges must remain with who they were issued to- no transferring ownership. Two badges are issued per account at no charge. There will be a nonrefundable fee of $ 10 each for any replacement or additional badges you may want or need.( Maximum of four badges per account.) Badges must be returned at the end of the year if not registered for the next fall. Failure to return badges will result in a $ 10 / badge fee.

PARENT / GUARDIAN QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS

If you have a suggestion, question or concern about the program, the conduct of the staff or the policies, the best course of action to take is:
1. Talk to the site coordinator at your child’ s site. You can call the site coordinator, leave a written message or schedule a conference.
2. If needed, contact the Adventures Plus program coordinator in charge of your child’ s site. The coordinator is also available for a scheduled conference upon request.
3. If the problem is not resolved in steps one and two, contact the program supervisor. The supervisor is available for a scheduled conference by phone or in person.

PARENT / GUARDIAN ACCESS

Parents and legal guardians will be allowed access to their child while attending the program. Adventures Plus requires families with custodial arrangements which prohibit parental access to provide a copy of legal custody agreement.
