Adventures Plus

PHILOSOPHY

Adventures Plus is dedicated to quality development and engagement of children and youth in partnership with families, schools and communities.

VISION

Adventures Plus is recognized as a leading provider of out of school time programming with dedicated leadership and strong and talented staff. Adventures Plus uses best practices and tools to deliver high quality, child-driven and inclusive programs dedicated to developing the whole child in a safe, nurturing, diverse, and enriching environment. Adventures Plus strives to be an employer of choice and consistently grows and expands its programs through a mutually beneficial partnership with families, schools and communities.
Adventures Plus strives to support families by being sensitive and responsive to changing community and family needs. Adventures Plus provides a safe, nurturing atmosphere in which children can:
Build meaningful social, citizenship and life skills. Develop positive self-esteem. Learn to respect and appreciate the differene in each other.

ADVENTURES PLUS OFFERS:

An enriched and fun environment. Professional and caring staff. A diverse curriculum that supports child development through creativity and the arts, language and literacy, physical development and health, cognitive, social and emotional development. This is achieved by offering special interest clubs, creative art, music, literature, science, math and drama Engaging recreational choices including gym, outdoor play, large and small group games, field trips, and special events. An opportunity to participate in community-building activities.

We seek to cultivate an accessible, welcoming, and safe environment for all through equitable and expanding resources, meaningful professional development opportunities, and growing representation by ensuring that all are seen and their voices are sought, heard and honored. We will continuously examine all aspects of our program through an equity lens to identify structural barriers and work to eliminate them.

Definition

OF TERMS

Before-school session- 6:30 a. m.- start of elementary school day, Monday through Friday.
After-school session- end of elementary school day- 6 p. m., Monday through Friday.
Full-time schedule- A family requesting care five days per week, per session.
Part-time schedule- A family requesting services four days or less per week with specified consistent days.
Drop-in days- This is for currently attending families who need to add a session of care not regularly scheduled. Drop-in care is on a space available basis. Visit our website for drop-in rates. Drop-in care is intended for occasional use only.
Non-school days( NSD)- A day when school is not in session, but Adventures Plus provides care 6:30 a. m.- 6 p. m. Non-school day care is for families currently attending only. NSDs are listed on the Adventures Plus website and are not included in your regular contract.
Holiday- A day when Adventures Plus will be closed. Families are not billed for holidays.
Summer program- A full-day program for incoming K-6th grade that runs from 6:30 a. m. to 6 p. m. Families may select the days of care they need. 20 day minimum.

PROGRAM FUNDING

Parent / guardian fees fund the Adventures Plus program. Adventures Plus is coordinated by the Community Education department of the Anoka-Hennepin School District.
