LEARN! TUTOR CONNECT: GRADES 1-10 Tutor Connect staff work to focus and meet the unique needs of your child. Tutoring sessions aim to give students an extra academic boost whether they need to catch up, or speed ahead! • One-on-one tutoring (K-12) – Individualized assistance for students ranging from homework help, studying for upcoming tests and working on specific academic skills and concepts. • Group tutoring (K-12) – Tutors work with small groups of students (no larger than five) to provide academic assistance in the same subject area. • Academic enrichment (K-5) – Reading, writing and math classes are offered after-school at elementary schools throughout the year. Special hands-on activities and enjoyable demonstrations make learning fun and engaging for students. BABYSITTING: AMERICAN RED CROSS CERTIFIED Parents are looking for certified babysitters! Get a leg up on the competition with this certified class that prepares you for all types of babysitting situations. Through hands-on activities, you’ll learn about the basic care of young children, including safety and responsibility, age-appropriate activities and first aid. Boys and girls at least 11 years of age are welcome to participate. Class includes a comprehensive babysitting manual. Students must complete the entire class to receive certification. Class size is limited, so register early. Boys and girls at least 11 years of age are invited to attend this class in preparation to obtain a hunting or trapping license. Even if you don’t plan on being a hunter, this class will increase your knowledge of wildlife, survival skills and firearms safety. Classes will be held in March and April at Roosevelt, Oak View and Jackson Middle School. Call the site of your choice in late January or early February for exact dates.
