ATHLETICS! WELCOME Discover community education! Participating in extra-curricular activities and athletic programs is a great way for students to engage in their school community as they meet friends and learn new things. Community Education offers a wide variety of unique activities, designed for teens, in the evening, on the weekend or after-school to enhance their academic and social experience: • ATHLETICS: Team and individual sports • PLAY: Recreation, games and fitness • EXPLORE: Arts, science and technology • LEARN: Safety, babysitting and lessons • FAMILY FUN Community Education welcomes participants of all abilities. Students currently receiving free or reduced priced meals through Anoka- Hennepin Schools may pay a reduced class fee. Eligible students may use the price as indicated in parenthesis ($XX) in each class description. 1 Information for athletic participants: Middle school athletics are held at each middle school and focus on skill development, participation, teamwork and safety. Teams are formed based on each player’s skill level. Teams practice after school and compete against other Anoka-Hennepin middle schools. Students must have a Sports Qualifying Physical (valid for three years) on file to participate. The form is available online or at your school’s Community Education office. Activity buses are available Monday –Thursday. Parents are responsible for transportation on Fridays and after games. For specific schedules, visit www.ahmiddleschoolathletics.org after the first week of the program.
