3-D PRINTING: BUILD YOUR OWN ROBOT
Students will learn the ropes of 3-D modeling and printing with 3-D pens to understand
printing in plastic and CAD (computer-aided design) software to design parts for their robot
to be 3-D printed. At the end of the week, you will have a DC-motor-powered robot to take
home.

3-D PRINTING: INTRO. TO ENGINEERING
Students will learn the ropes of 3-D modeling and printing with 3-D pens to understand
printing in plastic, and using CAD (computer-aided design) software. Students will use the
Engineering Design Process to design tools to solve engineering problems like improving a
paddleboat, building a stronger bridge, creating new dragster wheels and more. Their design
solutions will be 3-D printed and tested.

ADVANCED MINECRAFT: COMMAND BLOCK
Are you ready to have messy fun
summer? In this camp, kids explore
chemical reactions in a super fun slimy
way as they create all kinds of ooey,
gooey, sticky, bouncy, slimy mixtures.
Kids will also be challenged to solve
fun engineering problems and so
much more. The best part? All the
mess stays behind, and fun memories
and learning go home! Get ready to wire up your Minecraft worlds with command blocks and Redstone! Even if
you’re a seasoned Minecraft pro, there’s plenty for you to learn. From basic traps to powered
machines, Redstone offers Minecraft players a whole new range of opportunities to create
amazing things. Minecraft’s command block is a pseudo-programming language that consists
of logic and execution written in text. We’ll learn to spawn creatures, teleport all over your
world, and make multiplayer games.
Date/Day
Jul 6 M-Th 111 years ago, airplanes had not even made their first flight, yet today we can fly to the other
side of the world in 12 hours! Thanks to advances in technology, we are able to explore so
much of the world. Teams will have to work together to see who is able to travel the farthest
around the world. This trek around the world will require students to design their very own
boat, plane, and even a rocket!

CODING IN SCRATCH 3.0: BASIC GAME
Scratch 3.0 has landed, so stay ahead of the curve with this introduction class. Students will
learn the fundamentals of computer programming by seeing how to build their own games.
Coding theory is taught through practical tasks, so students don’t just learn how computer
code works; they learn why it’s done that way. Jumpy Monkey shows them how to simulate
gravity in their games, or they can give Dog’s Dinner a try to learn about collision detection.
What’s more, this new version of Scratch will also let you code and play games on tablets,
and play the games you create on smart phones!
