Mixed-age classes are designed for children ranging in age from birth up to kindergarten . Families with one or more children are welcome . Each class includes a parent / child time , learning activities for children and parent discussion .

Mixed-age classes are separating classes which means parents / caregivers spend half of the class time together with their child and half in parenting education while the child stays with an early childhood teacher .

Introduction to ECFE

Are you new to ECFE ? Early Childhood Family Education ( ECFE ) classes are designed to strengthen families and support children ’ s healthy growth and development . Enjoy this time to play with your child in an early childhood classroom exploring play dough , art activities , building with blocks and more . During the second part of class , parents / guardians separate from children to discuss a variety of parenting topics made to boost parenting skills and confidence while licensed teachers help your child develop their physical , language , cognitive and social potential .

Have fun with songs , games , and story time while building curiosity for letters and numbers . Each week there will be a variety of early literacy and early math activities . Parenting discussion will focus on child development , temperament , and other topics selected by group .

Class Under Glass

Studies prove that spending time outdoors builds confidence , promotes creativity , provides unique stimulation , and gets children moving , all while reducing stress and fatigue . Parents and children will learn about the outdoors and nature , both in and out of our greenhouse , through artwork and sensory experiences . Class will be spent inside and outdoors .

Engaging Play Every Day

Children are natural explorers of their environment . They use play to figure out how things work , build relationships , learn and more . The classroom will be set up for exploration for you and your child to play and learn together . Parenting discussions include the purpose of play for young children plus a variety of parenting topics chosen by the group participants .

Exploring Music

Young children love to explore the world of music . Come and play with your child as you listen and move to different types of music , create a musical instrument , and learn new songs to sing with your child . Licensed parenting educator will lead discussions on a variety of parenting topics chosen by the group participants .

Exploring Science

Children have a natural curiosity about the world around them . Come and discover “ science ” using your senses to explore nature and how things work in everyday life . Licensed parenting educator will lead discussions on a variety of parenting topics chosen by the group participants .
