What are age-specific classes ?

Age-specific classes are offered to help families learn about challenges and opportunities that come with parenting children at each age and stage , while children can interact with peers that have similar developmental skills . The age of the child attending the class must fall within the guidelines during the first week that the class is held .

Babies , Babies , Babies

( Birth to 12 months ) Join other parents to play and learn in a baby-safe environment . Babies will have fun with activities and songs ; parents will learn about development , early learning activities , sleeping and eating . Non-separating class - parents / caregivers and babies remain together for the class . Riverview class and sibling care will be held outdoors .

Sibling care is available at Riverview depending on staffing ratios - $ 30 / child ( includes all ). Pre-registration is required .

Wonderful Ones

( 11-20 months ) So much has changed in your child ’ s first year ! Spend time with your one-year-old learning , discovering , and playing in a classroom designed for exploring and moving as well as parenting discussion on topics related to the joys and challenges of this age . Separating class - parent / caregiver and child separation will be gradual .

Toddlers & Twos

( 18-35 months ) Life can be challenging living with the emerging independence of a two-year-old . Enjoy learning activities designed for curious , busy , on-the-go toddlers . Parenting discussion includes information about temperament traits , setting limits , toilet learning and independence . Separating class - parents / caregivers spend half of the class time together with their child and half in parenting education .

Special Event

What a special time for you ! Join other parents / caregivers and their babies in a room filled with activities and information geared just for little ones . No charge , but preregistration is necessary . This event is for newborns ( birth to 9 months ) with their parent / caregiver – older siblings cannot be accommodated . Non-separating class - parents / caregivers and babies remain together for the class .
