Fall Pruning
Now is the best time to plan your pruning projects. Using the
proper tools, techniques and purpose, this landscape chore can be
mastered by you, the homeowner. Come to this presentation with
a sketch of your landscape, some pictures, a list of questions and
go home with a plan. Class fee: $25.

Growing Grapes for Wine Making
Growing grapes to make wine is a popular hobby. This hands-on
class will let you learn from the pros! Head out to the vineyard to
learn about Minnesota grapes, pruning, harvest parameters, trellis
systems, diseases and weed control. Bring gloves, hand pruners
and wear old clothes to get dirty. Participants must be at least 21
years old. Class held at the White Rabbit Winery in Andover.

Holiday Wreath
Celebrate the season by creating and displaying a new holiday
wreath! Decorate a pre-made balsam wreath with a variety of
festive embellishments. Bring pruners and garden gloves. Class
held at Mickman Brothers Garden Center in Ham Lake. Supply fee
of $30 plus tax, per wreath paid at class (note when registering if
you will create one or two). Class fee: $19.

NEW | Mushrooms For Your Gardens
Discover how gourmet and medicinal mushrooms can become
a part of your gardens and landscapes. Mushrooms are able to
compliment and enhance the growth of flowers and vegetables.
They may also be used to recycle landscape scraps and organic
waste. Ron Spinosa, instructor, and past President of the Minnesota
Mycological Society, will illustrate the essential role of fungi for
healthy landscapes, gardens, and ecosystems. Class fee: $29.

Herbs In the Garden & Kitchen
Culinary herbs such as basil, rosemary, dill and parsley, belong
in every kitchen pantry! As your herbs continue to grow in your
garden and pots, learn various techniques for preserving herbs for
winter use including techniques for how to set up an indoor herb
garden. Instructor and University of Minnesota Extension Services
Master Gardener, Mary Tessman, will show you ways to have
fresh herbs for everyday cooking. Class includes herb tasting and
cooking ideas to get you started. Class fee: $25.

Holiday Centerpiece
This holiday season, make your dining area as festive as the rest of
your home! Create a wonderful holiday centerpiece by combining
fresh evergreen boughs with a scented candle, adding elegant
style to your table. Bring pruners and garden gloves. Class held at

The Art of Bonsai
Explore the ancient art of bonsai – your own tree in miniature. This
hands-on course will take away the mystique and show you how
to create, maintain and shape your own tree. You’ll be guided
through the creation of your own bonsai tree in class. Instructor,
Lionel Flood is the past president of the Minnesota Bonsai Society.
Supply fee of $35 paid to instructor at class includes tree, soil, wire
and pot. Class fee: $35.
