NEW | Pruning Tips for Your Home Landscape
The best time for pruning most trees and shrubs is early spring
before they break winter dormancy, and this is the best time to
plan your pruning project. Using the proper tools, techniques
and purpose, this landscape chore can be mastered by you, the
homeowner. Come to this presentation with a sketch of your
landscape, some pictures and a list of questions, and go home with
a plan. Class fee: $25.

NEW | Starting Herb, Vegetable
& Flower Seeds at Home
Starting herbs, vegetables, and flowers from seeds is both
challenging and satisfying. Try varieties not commonly available,
grow heirloom seeds collected and shared and focus on organically
grown plants. We will discuss buying and sharing seeds, starting
mixes and containers, timing and light requirements, watering,
fertilizing, and transplanting to gardens and containers. Class will
include a presentation on growing cool weather and warm weather
plants in Minnesota. Class fee: $25.

The Art of Bonsai
Explore the ancient art of bonsai – your own tree in miniature. This
hands-on course will take away the mystique and show you how
to create, maintain and shape your own tree. You’ll be guided
through the creation of your own bonsai tree in class. Instructor,
Lionel Flood is the past president of the Minnesota Bonsai Society.
Supply fee of $30 paid to instructor at class includes tree, soil, wire
and pot. Class fee: $35.
