Introduction to Poetry

NEW | Public Speaking Skills for Everyday Business

According to Emily Dickinson,”If I feel physically as if the top of my
head were taken off, I know that is poetry.” That is because poetry
exists to challenge our usual ways of seeing the world and in the
process to create feeling in the reader. Come join us for a chance
to enjoy the surprises of poetry by reading good poems and
writing your own. Designed for those with little or no experience
of poetry, you will be introduced to and experiment with the basic
elements of poetic craft. Bring writing materials of your choice.
Class fee: $35.

Learn speaking techniques from the Toastmaster Speech craft
series and discover skills for doing elevator speeches, interviews
and other common business uses. Class fee: $55.
