Grilling Basics Meat Trek
Learn what will make or break your grilling! You will learn simple
tips for using charcoal and gas grills, instant-read thermometers
and cuts of meat. You’ll create rubs and marinades in class and
use them for direct and indirect grilling of meats and vegetables.
Please include any dietary restrictions with your registrations.
Extensive handouts provided. Bring an apron and container to
take home leftovers! Supply fee of $15 cash paid to instructor at
class. Class fee: $39. The Twin Cities are home to exceptional butcher shops carrying
fine, dry-aged beef, shop-made sausages, old-fashioned stewing
hens and other delightful meats to enliven your cooking. Join
cooking teacher Jan, for a four-hour tour of a four local shops—
encounter cuts uncommon in American supermarkets. Locations
(Minneapolis/St. Paul) and itinerary emailed one week prior.

Intro to Gluten Free Baking Mother’s Day Tea
Are you new to being gluten-free or have a loved one or friend
who is gluten-free, either due to health challenges or lifestyle
choices? In this hands-on class, we will go through the basics
of gluten-free living, be introduced to the different flours,
and prepare a couple of simple, gluten-free recipes including
chocolate banana muffins and almond flour brownies. Recipes,
flour information sheet, and a tip sheet will be provided to start
your gluten-free journey. Supply fee $15 cash paid to instructor.
Class fee: $35. Begin a tradition by treating Mom to an evening of fun and
relaxation. Enjoy specially prepared tea and foods at the historic
Ticknor Hill Bed and Breakfast in Anoka. Take home recipes
and tea tips. Please note that seating is pre-assigned; if you
would like to be seated as a group or with a friend, please call
763-506-5766 to let us know. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. for

Marvelous Muffins and Popovers The Art of Sushi
Whether cooking for a memorable breakfast, tea time, or
accompaniment to meals, hot from-the-oven breads are
scrumptious. Recipes include: blueberry, cinnamon crunch, dried
cherry, fresh ginger, golden raisin, maple sour cream, sliced fresh
lemon plus flavored butters and a variety of glazes and toppings.
Popovers are perfect served alone or insert your favorite filling to
create a special treat. This is a hands-on class. Bring a container.
Supply fee of $12 cash paid to instructor at class. Class fee: $35.

Come explore the world of sushi as you create this Japanese
delicacy yourself. We’ll begin by preparing the coveted sushi
rice then you’ll learn the art of “nigiri-sushi” (hand molded
rice) topped with shrimp, unagi, and ahi tuna. Learn how to
prepare “maki-sushi” using a bamboo mat to roll rice with
various fillings in and around Nori (seaweed sheets). Options and
accompaniments will include surimi, cucumber, avocado, cream
cheese, teriyaki chicken, tempura onions, spicy mayo, eel sauce,
wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce. Class fee: $55.
