Acrylic Basics-Small Painting Big Impact-Flowers
Are you interested in acrylic painting but not quite sure where
or how to begin? This step-by-step class will provide you with
opportunities to make five beautiful, complete works of art - one
in each class session. Join instructor, Dan McAvey, in exploring
acrylic painting fundamentals while you paint various flowers as
your subject matter. All supplies provided. Class fee: $75.

NEW | Acrylic Pouring-Flower Technique
Acrylic paint pouring is an exciting method for making unique,
abstract art. Learn about pouring mediums and mixing paints
to get consistent results to develop beautiful patterns in your
paintings. There will be a couple of demonstrations, then you’ll
get to create a unique 9 in. x 12 in. canvas painting using the
“flower” technique. All supplies are included! Wear old clothes,
it’s a messy medium. Paintings will need time to dry, so you will
need to pick up your painting the following week. Class fee: $45.

Acrylics-A Night At Split Rock
Expand your imagination and experience acrylic painting with
this one night class. Instructor, Dan McAvey, will guide you
through each step and teach you the skills to create a beautiful
canvas painting of Split Rock Lighthouse. Canvas measures
16 in. x 20 in. No experience is required to have a fun night
and create a piece of art you can bring home. All supplies are
provided. Class fee: $39.

Bob Ross Oil Painting
Have you ever wanted to try oil painting, but didn’t know where
to start? Start here! Jay Rupp, a certified Bob Ross instructor,
will guide you step-by-step as you paint. All supplies will be
provided. Wear painting appropriate clothing and bring a bag
lunch. Wooden picture frames are available for purchase after
class. Class fee: $59.

NEW | Intro to Norwegian Rosemaling
Experience the traditional Norwegian art form known as
Rosemaling. This distinctive style of painting includes a floral
motif painted on a wooden object or furniture. You will learn a
bit of history on this art form and the basic strokes and supplies
needed to create a finished work of art. We will spend class time
practicing and perfecting the strokes on paper before moving on
to a small wooden object. Class fee: $59.

NEW | Nature Art-Pastel Landscapes
Explore your creativity as you are introduced to painting with
dramatic pastels. Colors are vivid and easy to use. Create a
picturesque landscape in this outdoors class using impressionist
techniques and shading for depth. Wear clothes for creating
art, with comfort and warmth for spring weather. All art supplies
provided. Class held at Oliver Kelly Historic Farm in Elk River.

Basic Drawing Next Steps
Explore the world and joy of drawing while focusing on line,
shape, value, space and texture. Educator and artist, MaryLeah
Marshall, will provide guidance as you develop your individual
drawing skills using still life and photo references as sources. All
levels of drawing are welcome; individual instruction adapted to
