hobbies Appraise Your Antiques Make Your Own Fishing Rod Learn the basics of identifying and appraising art, antiques, jewelry, coins and collectibles. Get tips on what makes items valuable and the best ways to sell them. You will learn about lithophane, trench art, U.S. Zone china, a U.S. three cent nickel, precious gemstones, mourning jewelry and German silver. Experience hands-on learning with certified appraiser and instructor, David Schlueter. Extensive handouts provided. Class fee: $29. Build your own fishing rod from start to finish. Choose from a spinning or baitcasting 6 ft. 6 in. medium/light rod ($100) or extendible Muskie rod 6 ft. 6 in. to 8 ft. 6 in. ($150). A completed fishing rod, depending on the craftsmanship, can be valued in excess of $300. Please indicate when registering what type of rod you will make. This hands-on class will answer all of your questions and cover RV 101 trouble shooting, 110/12 volt systems, hot water repair, gas/ electric refrigeration repair, furnace repair, power conversions, water by-pass systems, generator repair and winterizing. Before the war, Bayer Ross worked as a tailor in his father’s dry cleaning shop in the southwestern Minnesota town of Mountain Lake. During World War II, he served in the army as a medic and saw action in North Africa, Sicily, the D-Day invasion, and even worked in a concentration camp.
