Fly Fishing-Introduction
Come join us to learn about this exciting fishing
technique. Learn about the equipment and how to fly
cast. Find out what flies work for fishing in our area
and beyond. Class will combine instruction with handson practice casting. Bring your own rod or use the
instructor’s. Instructor, Nick Altringer, is an experienced
outdoor educator and guide. Class fee: $25.

Fly Tying
Learn the art of fly tying. Tying your own flies saves
money and allows the angler a great collection of flies
for every season. Create 3-5 flies in class, depending
on time. Instructor, Nick Altringer, is an experienced
outdoor educator and guide. Supply fee of $15 for
3-5 flies paid to instructor at class. Class fee: $19.

How to Fish Twin Cities Lakes
Select the best fishing lakes and learn the three magic words
used to consistently catch fish. Learn how to choose the best lures
and techniques for each species and make a slip-bobber rig, jig
worm, and weedless plastic worm to take home. Plus door prizes,
free maps, booklets and other fun stuff. Supply fee of $2 paid to
instructor at class. Instructor, Sybil Smith, is the author of the
Twin Cities Fishing Guide and Twin Cities Shore Fishing Maps.
Class fee: $25.
International Travel Safety
Learn important tips for safer travel: how to dress and act in public,
and where to sit on a bus or plane in order to minimize yourself to
crime and other threatening situations. Instructor, Mark Dugger, is
a retired U.S. Army Colonel, experienced in counter-terrorism and
counter-intelligence operations. He is also a professor who teaches
classes related to safety for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
for Intelligence. Class fee: $19.

Make Your Own Fishing Rod
Build your own fishing rod from start to finish. Choose from a
spinning or bait casting 6 ft. 6 in. medium/light rod ($85) or two
sizes of Muskie Rods (7 ft. 6 in. for $105 or 8 ft. 6 in. for $150). A
completed fishing rod, depending on the craftsmanship, can be
valued in excess of $300. Please indicate when registering what
type of rod you will make. Contact Gary at 612-810-6046 with rod
specific questions. Bring a bag lunch. Supply fee of $85 - $150 cash
or check, paid to instructor, Gary Wicks, at class. Class fee: $25.

writing of your personal memoir. Receive feedback from instructor
