Backyard Chickens for Beginners
Did you know chickens are omnivores, great composters, eat insects and make excellent pets? Learn flock-starting basics and how to maintain a healthy flock. Topics include breed selection, brooding, coop options and general care. Learn how easy it is to get started with your chicks! Instructor Tom Tidrick has over 30 years of poultry experience.

NEW | Planting Spring Bulbs in the Fall
Early bulbs welcome spring to the garden, and are unequaled as a source of color. Bulbs bloom in many colors, sizes and shapes. They will return year after year with minimum maintenance. In this class, we will discuss bulb types, planting bulbs and caring for bulbs. You will get practice planting daffodil bulbs that you can take home. Basic Home Plumbing
Gain confidence by learning to repair minor plumbing problems or replace fixtures yourself. We will review metal & plastic pipe, valves and fittings. Take apart different types of faucets, replace pop-up drain assembly, and discuss internal workings of the toilet. There will be a demo on how to cut plastic pipe and solder copper pipe. In this introductory class, we will review the home electrical system, different types and gauge of wire, application and safety. Proper techniques discussed for stripping wire, attaching to outlets, switches and light fixtures, as well as test equipment. Bring straight and Phillips screwdrivers, long nose pliers and wire stripping pliers to class if you have them. Handouts included with the class.

Electric Repair II
Continue learning by attending this hands-on class. You will install single pole and 3-way switches, outlets and light fixtures to energize a light bulb and test the circuit. We will discuss proper installation of different light fixtures and ceiling fans. Prerequisite: Basic Home Electrical Repair Class I. Please bring your wire stripper, Phillips screwdriver, and long-nose pliers if you have them. Handouts included with the class.
