Improving is just a matter of knowing some simple tricks to make your writing more impactful and readable and may help get you a promotion at work or avoid rejection from a publisher . In this hands-on session , there will be writing / editing examples and exercises so you can see in real time how to make sentences flow properly while still maintaining reader interest . You will receive a digital workbook full of writing tips and tricks , which is included in the class fee .

Maple syrup is among the oldest agricultural products in the United States . Learn when and how to tap maple trees and what tools are needed . We will teach how to boil syrup and recognize when it is done and share ideas on proper storage techniques . Come with questions .

Birdwatching is a hobby that can provide you with a lifetime of enjoyment . Be introduced to the basic elements of birding , such as bird shape , size and feeding patterns that you can use to identify your feathered neighbors . Handouts and resources to help you get started on your birdwatching adventures will also be provided . For the second class , we will meet at a local park to do some birdwatching and see who has started to migrate through Minnesota . Beginners welcome . See website for what to bring .

Carlson ’ s “ Llovable ” Llama Farm boasts over 30 personable and curious llamas . Come learn about all their sweet and unique characteristics , see baby llamas and even take a llama on a trail walk . There is also a gift shop for llama yarn and toys . Class held at Carlson ’ s Farm in Waconia . Transportation is on your own .

Crystals and stones are fun and helpful tools that can be worked with in many ways , even for everyday use ! We discuss the different kinds of crystals , different uses , how to find ones that resonate with you and how to properly care for them .

Trailhead Cycling is providing an electric bike experience just for you ! Trailhead will provide the e-bike , show you how they work and then take you on an e-bike ride through the Elm Creek Park trails ! It is the perfect way to experience an e-bike . Helmets , hydration , bike and guide provided . Participants must be able to ride a bike unassisted . Class will meet at Trailhead Cycling in Champlin .

Join instructor June Gossler Anderson to hear the stories of forgotten Anoka , the people who once lived there and , according to some , are still hanging around . During this presentation she will tell you of long ago Anoka — of the Jackson Hotel , now Billy ’ s ; the old Post Office , Colonial Hall , the Masonic Lodge and some infamous residences , all haunted , of course .
