home Growing, Harvesting & Using Culinary Herbs The use of herbs in cooking dates back thousands of years. Like our early colonists, who understood the benefits of using culinary herbs, the home gardener can have herbs in a convenient kitchen garden. We will look at growing herbs both outside and inside, then discuss the best times to harvest herbs and easy methods to store and preserve them. And of course, we will discuss quick and effective ways to use herbs in your favorite-and soon to be favorite-foods! Instructor, Mary Tessman, is a University of Minnesota Extension Service Master Gardener.
