NEW | Master Recycler/Composter
Join fellow waste reduction enthusiasts and become an
advocate in your community. Presented in partnership
with Anoka County and the City of Andover, learn
about all aspects of recycling and solid waste
management. Change the way you think about trash
and hear from professionals in the field regarding
reducing waste, recycling, composting, resource
recovery and disposal. Optional off site tours discussed
in class. Upon completion, community service hours are
encouraged to complete Master Recycler certification.
Class fee: $29.

Learn how to choose a contractor with the best intentions and
avoid home improvement scams. Presented by the Better Business
Bureau, this interactive class will teach you how to increase your
awareness of scams, learn money saving options for home projects
and understand how to verify information on a business. Leave
with helpful resources and access to services to begin your home
project while protecting yourself. Class fee: $19.

Evergreen Hanging Basket
Create an elegant fiber hanging basket filled with a variety of
fresh evergreens and artificial berries. Additional items may
be purchased. Bring pruners and garden gloves. Class held at
Mickman Brothers Garden Center in Ham Lake. Supply fee of $25
plus tax, per basket paid at class (note when registering if you
would like to create 1 or 2 baskets). Class fee: $19.

NEW | Fall Tips for a Sustainable Lawn
Summer can take a toll on your lawn and frustrate your efforts to
present a sustainable green zone around your home. Fall presents
an opportunity to encourage and restore during this critical time
to fill spots and seed, reseed and over-seed. Learn how to build a
strong lawn that has a best chance to last with topics that include
fall fertilizing, watering, mowing, aerification, thatch and weed
control. Bring a list of your specific concerns and be ready to share
your ideas and questions. Instructor, Mary Tessman, is a University
of Minnesota Extension Service Master Gardener. Class fee: $19.
