Winter Survival Adventure Many people love to watch wilderness survival reality shows on television, but this class gives you the opportunity to learn and practice survival skills in real life! Come out to Carpenter Nature Center and have fun building shelters, fires and distress signals in a safe, supervised environment. You’ ll also get a chance to play in the snow, roast marshmallows over your fire, and maybe even see native wildlife! All participants must be accompanied by a caregiver who will assist and encourage them through out the program.( Caregivers are not charged) Program is located at Carpenter Nature Center: 12805 St. Croix Trail S., Hastings, MN 55033. Making Maple Syrup Welcome the coming of spring by joining in the tradition of making maple syrup! Learn how to identify maple trees and what makes them unique, spend time in the Carpenter Nature Center“ sugarbush” tapping trees witness the process of turning sap into syrup, and sample finished maple syrup.
