For more than sixty years , Delta Dental of Rhode Island has been committed to creating meaningful , long-lasting impacts in the communities we serve by working with our health care and nonprofit partners to increase access to oral health care for all Rhode Islanders .
We ’ re partnering with the Community College of Rhode Island ’ s dental hygiene program to train and retain workforce-ready talent by providing funding to renovate and expand its learning lab . The Delta Dental scholarship also supports ten dental hygiene students each year who commit to working in Rhode Island after graduation .
Delta Dental is also working with the Samuels Sinclair Dental Center at Rhode Island Hospital to launch the state ’ s first oral surgery residency program , which will accept two residents per year and expand access to specialized dentistry .
We ’ ve also played a major role in building , expanding and upgrading dental clinics at community health centers , including Thundermist Health Center , Rhode Island Free Clinic , Wood River Health and more . We ’ re proud to be a longtime sponsor of free dental clinics like Rhode Island Mission of Mercy , Operation Stand Down and the Rhode Island Dental Lifeline Network .
Delta Dental ’ s spirit of giving back extends to our staff , which dedicated more than 1,400 hours of employee volunteer time to more than 100 nonprofit organizations last year .
