Mission Statement
At Tri-County , our mission is to empower and create opportunities for vulnerable individuals and families in our community to become socially and economically self-sufficient through integrated social , educational , health , prevention and other basic needs services .
Background Tri-County provides comprehensive services to ameliorate poverty and assist individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency . With sixteen locations and over sixty programs , we lend a helping hand to over 35,000 Rhode Islanders every year .
Brag Lines The Tri-County Health Equity Zone recently opened the doors to a brand-new Community Center in Johnston . The center welcomes people for a variety of activities including yoga , cooking classes , support groups art and much more !
Pay It Forward As a community action organization , we are always looking for volunteers who support our mission . Volunteer opportunities include food distribution , focus groups and committee members . Contact us to learn more about volunteering with Tri-County !

background Established in 1958 , Tomaquag Museum is Rhode Island ’ s only Indigenous-led museum entirely dedicated to telling the story of the Indigenous peoples of this land . Tomaquag Museum has a unique collection of thousands of cultural objects , along with hundreds of thousands of pieces of archival materials focusing on the Indigenous peoples of southern New England . The museum is well respected and visited each year by researchers , students and travelers from across the United States and throughout the world .
