GASMILLA MISS PYPER: What is the inspiration behind your new song Aflikiti? GASMILLA: Love is what inspired me to put this song together. Love is a genuine and pure feeling that’s worth sharing. I want to share my love.. That realisation of knowing who you are and having something that is pure and beautiful that others may not have and sharing with them makes you the more amazing and special. MSP: How did you feel when other artistes were claiming to be the originators of Azonto? GSM: I can’t really tell how I felt but it’s something I came to understand and accepted. I wasn’t a big artiste then and so people didn’t recognize me enough to attribute it to me. MSP: Were you hurt or disappointed? GSM: Not at all. I don’t think I had any emotions towards that. I was simply OK and still am. MSP: How do you go about putting songs together? GSM: Music just comes to me. I don’t force it. As we speak now I’m in the studio finishing up a song for my upcoming album. MSP: Upcoming album? Tell me about it. GSM: I’m not sure I want to do such. It’s more like a secret project. I intend to surprise my fans with it however I can drop a hit and probably the title. MSP: And what’s the title? GSM: 10.10.10 or Sea-Son MSP: So what really is the Gasmilla brand? GSM: The Gasmilla brand? The Gasmilla brand is anything music. I like to consider myself as a versatile artiste. I rap, I sing, I raga – I simply can do anything or style of music. A lot of people know me as the “Azonto” artiste but I have materials that are not Azonto an example is Aflikiti. The Gasmilla brand is one that represents not just Ga music but the Ga culture.
