W e all enjoyed the ever popular Ga song titled ‘T3l3mo’ and as it stands now, we are most certain many would jam to it should they hear it again; chime its beat and sing along to its lyrics even if they are getting all the lyrics wrong and this is because the truth has always remained singular; that song was a total hit with so much sense communicated in a rather hilarious manner. Should we start with the Azonto craze and how all and sundry part took in its display? Or perhaps we should not because everyone is well acquainted with all that ensued during that phase in the entertainment industry and we owe it to one name and face. One simply cannot construct a sentence that has an element of Azonto or how Ga music has evolved without having to mention Gasmilla’s name. They are practically like the two distinct yet similar sides of the same coin. Although many have claimed to be the originators of the dance and songs with traces of it, we are all in the known of who really deserve this glory and crown. Gasmilla born Milla Joseph Odartei Lamptey has been singing for as long as time would allow us to recount but the world got to hear of him in 2011 and he has been consistent in dropping hit after hit. From T3l3mo to Aboodaatoi amongst others, we cannot all gleefully attest that the man has over paid his dues and proved himself in the industry. Gasmilla aka “The International Fisherman” who is out with his latest single dubbed ‘Aflikiti’ and was in the studio recording another song made time to answer a few questions we bombarded him with. We must say he is quite a character when it comes to his oration.
